AFP-NM Calls Out Governor Grisham’s False ‘Budget Crisis’ Blame Game
Santa Fe, NM – Today, Americans for Prosperity–New Mexico (AFP-NM) State Director Sarah Hetemi issued a statement pushing back against Governor Grisham’s special legislative session to spread the false narrative that the Working Families Tax Cuts created a “budget crisis.”
AFP-NM State Director Sarah Hetemi released the following statement:
“Governor Grisham’s special legislative session is nothing more than an extravagant and expensive attempt to shift blame away from her failed agenda. Her and Democrats in the state legislature have irresponsibly grown the size of our state government at the expense of hardworking taxpayers.
“As a result, New Mexico’s economic outlook has continued to worsen, and families are struggling. The Working Families Tax Cuts legislation is creating jobs, boosting local businesses, and delivering real relief for families across New Mexico. The bill is a generational opportunity to transform the American economy, and AFP is committed to making sure every New Mexican knows it.”
